Patrick is a consultant penetration tester for Rapid7. He regularly tests networks, web sites, and companies for security vulnerabilities and reports those back to the business. He also teaches Rapid7's Application Assault course, showing others how to do security testing of web sites. His background is in web application development, having spent twelve years as an application developer for Brown University. He is also an organizer having created the Rhode Island chapter of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), an international non-profit organization for the advancement of web security. He recently recreated the Rhode Island chapter of DefCon (DefCon401) with topics on voting and election day security and about lockpicking. He has been the content/speaker chair for the Security BSides security conference in Boston and has presented on many other conferences and meetings. He loves the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and playing ice hockey.
